The voice behind the announcements of Berlin's public transportation belongs to Philippa Jarke, a trans woman voice actor and actress. Chosen from over a thousand candidates in the pursuit of a gender-neutral voice that would encompass the diversity of the capital city, she recorded over 4,200 audio files in a total of more than 100 hours in the studio. These files cover all transport announcements heard throughout the city since 2021.
