A lioness loose in the woods was reported by residents of Kleinmachnow in July 2023. For nearly two days, schools were closed and the local population was advised to stay indoors, while a large search operation took place involving over 100 security personnel, drones, helicopters, and wildlife experts. After technical analysis of the video by veterinarians and specialists, the search was called off, as it was concluded that the animal filmed was not a lioness but rather a wild boar.
